Marcus and Bärbl
(Germany)

This year Marcus and Bärbl celebrate their 25th dance anniversary. Over all these years they shared their passion for vintage dances. They are internationally known for their commitment within the swing community. With their contagious energy and their profound knowledge, they made already the first and the third edition of Policoro in Swing unforgettable. We are really proud and happy that they will be back at Policoro in Swing 2016

Martynas Stonys
(Lithuania)

Martynas Stonys is a leader in the Lithuanian swing dance scene. He combines fun, great teaching, dance technique and helps you enjoy dancing more than ever! Martynas is one of the founders of Hoppers’ Dance Studio, which is famous for producing new Lindy Hop talents and some incredible viral dance videos on the internet. “My one and most important goal of every class I teach is to make sure my students have great time, so they want to come back for the next one. They can’t improve if they don’t come back. I always try to make classes fun, starting with something basic, so less experienced students can catch up, and then adding more advanced movements and variations, so everyone learns something new.” “I always make sure both leaders and followers receive the same amount of attention. Lindy Hop is a dance for two people. It is so much more fun when both partners are dancing, and not just leading or following.”

Abeth Farag

Besides Vintage Jazz classes, Abeth will put the perfect dance tunes as DJ during our parties in order to guarantee that any foot will stand still. For sure you will see Abeth dancing even behind the mixing console!

At Policoro in Swing you will have the chance to feel her passion for dance that she is eager to share with you.

Originally from Italy, Adamo is full time dance teacher and organiser based in London. He loves the craziness of Lindy Hop, the precision of Balboa and the intensity of Blues dancing. He loves social dancing, competing, listening to music, reading and watching videos. But what makes Adamo’s dancing life worthwhile is the commitment, enthusiasm, energy of his students and everybody else around this beautiful community of dancers. Vicci is a dancer, teacher and event organiser based in London, UK. There is nothing she loves more in the world than dancing! She has a broad knowledge of dance and the body, training initially as a solo dancer and gaining a 1st class honours degree in Dance and Choreography, and a diploma in Anatomy and Physiology. Her background in a variety of solo dances has been invaluable in her partner dancing, and she approaches her dancing with grace, fluidity and intense body awareness. Adamo and Vicci joined forces in 2012 to teach regular Lindy and blues classes in London and abroad. Both trained teachers, they love to create new and intuitive ways to communicate technical concepts to their students. Their lessons can be interactive and interdisciplinary involving drawing, discussions, giant elastic bands and even chopsticks!!! They have an incredible chemistry on the dance floor, bringing intensity, elegance and musicality to the dance. Their passion for dancing is evident in their inspiring classes, giving dynamic and energetic lessons with a focus on creativity, developing a relationship with the music, and encouraging dancers to find their own dancing voice. They are really excited to be back in Oxford and teach at the first ever Oxford Swing Festival!
